Account Manager

Job Location: Healthways, Inc., 3285 Northwoods Circle, Suite 120, Eagan, MN 55121

Position Description:

Healthways is the leading provider of specialized, comprehensive Health and Care Support solutions to help millions of people maintain or improve their health and, as a result, reduce overall healthcare costs.

Healthways provides talented students with the opportunity to gain challenging, real-world experience in health care through an internship. Interns will develop confidence and business savvy as they are treated as a respected member of the team and given professional responsibility. Our internships are practical and provide real opportunities to the interns with project-oriented assignments.

Currently seeking an Account Management Intern, responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Assist in the development of Account Management processes using flowcharts and creating policies and procedures
  • Assist with managing and updating account re-launch project plans
  • Assist in development of formal Account Manager training program

Start: September 2008
End: January/February 2009
Position: Part-time

Special Requirements:

  • Student must be enrolled in Bachelors or Masters program in business or related field.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Visio and understanding of basic project management.

Health Advisor

Currently seeking Health Advisor interns, responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Contact participants that are eligible for the program to enroll them
  • Provide necessary coaching to reduce or eliminate high-risk behaviors
  • Encourage adoption of habits that are conducive to a higher quality of life
  • Responsible for supporting operational aspects of the division to meet the organization’s customer requirements and satisfaction which includes providing answers to questions related to our programs and other customer service related assistance

Start: September 2008 or January 2009
End: December 2008 or March 2009
Full-time: 40 hrs/wk

Special Requirements:

  • Health related Bachelors degree required
  • Must be enrolled in a health related Masters degree program
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer data entry and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to utilize telephone
  • Ability to input/retrieve computer information for extended periods of time
  • Ability to understand directions and communicate/respond to inquiries
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills
  • Willing to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Part-Time Marketing Internship

Job Location: Office for Business & Community Economic Development, 2221 University Avenue SE, Suite 136, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55414

Position Description:

MBA Graduate Student with an emphasis in Marketing, Strategy and Communications would assist the Director with several Marketing projects for the Department.

Students would create, develop and implement marketing and promotional materials including brochures, flyers, postcards, handouts, mailings, etc.

1. Develop Marketing and Communications Plan to promote department programs and services.
2. Create a Department brand, logo and image.
3. Create Marketing and Communications materials for:

  • Computer Training Lab
  • Executive Education Program
  • MTAP and MAP Student Consulting Programs
  • Community Health Initiative
  • Digital Divide Initiative

Number of Working Hours: 14-20/week

Pay Rate: $16/hour

Internship to begin September 2008 at least through May 2009.

Special Requirements:

Graduate or Professional students in the following majors:

  • Marketing or related field
  • Master in Business Administration (MBA)
  • Public Relations
  • Communication Studies or related field
  • Mass Communication

Skills, expertise and hands-on knowledge of Marketing Strategies and Principles, and Development of Promotional Marketing Tools. Excellent written Communications skills.

Training and Development Specialist

  • Assist Market Trainer and Operation Leadership in developing ongoing training programs/modules for utilization by Health Advising staff. Modules include but not limited to motivational interviewing, behavior change, nutrition, and exercise

Start: September 2008
End: January/February 2009
Position: Full-time 40 hrs/wk

Special Requirements:

  • Student must be enrolled in Bachelors or Masters program in business, human resource development, public health, education and curriculum, or other related degree
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills
  • Prior computer-based training development a plus

Workforce Analyst

Currently seeking a Workforce Analyst Intern, responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Apply technical, statistical, and analytical skills and resources to design and maintain efficient and accurate workload and staffing plans for call center operations which includes forecasting, workload analytics, ad-hoc analysis and continual partnership with leadership

Position: Full-time (3 months) or Part-time (6 months)
Start: September 2008
End: December 2008 or March 2009

Special Requirements:

  • Student must be enrolled in Bachelors or Masters degree program in industrial engineering, business, finance, statistics or related degree
  • Requires high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Skilled in problem-solving and in the application of logical and statistical analysis
  • Solid understanding of the principals of labor management, and/or Industrial Engineering
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills
