Basics of Word Processing
Microsoft Word
- Level 1

Prerequisite: Basic familiarity with the Windows operating system.

Microsoft Word is a popular word processing program for creating such documents as memos, letters, reports, research papers, brochures, announcements, newsletters, envelopes, labels, etc. This is a beginning class on Microsoft Word, and covers how to create and edit documents, memos, letters, etc.

The class objectives include:

  • Creating documents
  • Navigating in a document
  • Selecting and deleting text
  • Checking the spelling and grammar in a document
  • Using the Thesaurus
  • Using the Help feature
  • Print documents
  • Create documents using a template
  • Create and rename folders
  • Insert AutoText in a document
